Our story · Since 1974
52 years ago, Brother George Heavens and Miss Catherine Morrison began talking about Jesus in the Lilliput district of St. James. They invited a third. Then a fifth. Then a Sabbath gathering. Then a building. Today, that conversation — Christ for everyone, gladly told — is still the only mandate we have.
Mission
“To proclaim the everlasting gospel of Jesus Christ to all people, nurturing believers in their faith journey, and preparing them for His soon return through worship, fellowship, education, and service.”
Vision
“To be a Christ-centered community that transforms lives through the power of the Holy Spirit, equipping believers to share God's love and hope with the world, starting with our local community in St. James.”

Brother Heavens secured land from Mr. Francis by the main road. With Luchious Lee, Shine, and Jarol digging the foundation, the congregation built a zinc church structure with wooden seats. Sister Dasil Simpson was the first baptized in the new sanctuary; Brother Kenneth Thomas and Sister Hyacinth Thomas were the first deacon and deaconess.

After a crusade led by Pastor Oliphant — with 25 souls baptized — the church was officially organized. Pastors Burrows, Reid, Parchment, Duncan, and Bygrave had shepherded the congregation through its early years at the roadside building.

After being displaced by the Urban Development Corporation, the church relocated to its current site — the land it still occupies today.

A crusade in the Wagon Wheel area, led by Pastor Laundale Monroe under the theme 'The Power of Love', saw 82 souls give their hearts to the Lord. The company was organized on November 12, 2011, and named Power of Love — Lilliput's first daughter church.
